Americans pay high taxes and get little in return. The US has one of the highest murder and rape rates, the largest slums, the lowest educational level in the west, etc. There has been very little building in the last 30 years and the infrastructure is decaying with total abandon. US news is generally full of murder, political conflicts, etc. The trade deficit and the national debt are massive. This generation will be the first generation to not only live worse than the generation before but live less in years. America is literally Russia before the fall....and the American masses are just as deluded as the Russians before their fall also. The banks own most of what Americans THINK they own and the only thing truly left for Americans is the delusion that they are as great as 30 years ago.

Need help? Just take a good drive through America's major cities and ask yourself " Gee...does this look like first world?". Then make a list of when things were made and you'd find AMerica has greatly stopped growing over 30 years ago. Make the list. You can always lie to yourself afterwards.

The government does take too many taxes. I agree with you there. I made under 23k last year and still had to pay taxes when I filed. Too much fat!

I certailnly think so. Its a pity as America used to stand for something great and honorable. Now its reputation and economic system lay in dust and ashes. Destroy all robots and give jobs back to the people!!!!!!! Problem solved. The Rich Elite need a little French Revolution served to em I say. Moral crimes at a alll time high, people suffering from lack of health care, standoffish posturing to the rest of the world, enviromentally unscrupulous, historic facts changed to fit the greed. I am ashamed to be an American at times like these.
ps There is no law that says you MUST pay federal income tax. Check it out you'll see. Schools are state and locally taxed, roads have the gas tax. Where does your tax money go?????? On munitions instead of health and education.

that's by no ability a sturdy component to examine issues as an entire, yet as a individual. This became the way the founders wanted it to be, they knew of ways government is a undesirable component and desires to be controlled or constrained. To many of the brainwashed people that in the time of standard terms want greater "unfastened stuff", even although technically that's pre paid by utilising somebody else, and this would not advise the wealthy or the damaging copout. Many people are actually not brainwashed by utilising the device, yet mutually as nonetheless being against further and extra government regulation. that's gloomy that the "Majority" dictates how the guy is oppressed.

the scary part is we are all connected globally now if we fall everyone falls. But what you failed to consider is the fact that we - americans love this country and will do everything in our power not to let that happen and if it does we will be sure to fix it -I guarantee in the next ten years you will see the following come from the USA : a new energy industry -reduced conflicts around the world - a more homegrown economy - better and more affordable healthcare - cures for diseases and illnesses - a reduction in taxes -higher paying jobs - changes in media (possible breakup of huge conglomerates ) - and a renewed faith in our country - one thing you failed to realise is we are still the largest economy in the world and if need be we can throw a lot of money very fast where we need it to fix our problems ..lets just hope we do it before the credit is maxed out

Well, compared to the UK, taxes in the US are a bargain and violent crime is nearly non-existent. The differences in infrastructure are shocking. Health care? Just don't get sick in the UK. Compared to America, this economic, industrial, military giant, the mother of all English-speaking peoples, the great empire builder--seems like a third-world country.
You should travel, maybe go see places where "middle class" means you have a toilet in your house. Where people live in mud huts, or cargo containers. We Americans are terribly spoiled. Generations before us worked hard to make life easy for us. And what do we do with the gift they have given us? We eat too much, exercise too little and go around thinking that we got all our wealth by luck.

I live in Europe, and America's better.
News is about what's out of the ordinary. Yes, there are murders. But it's not as bad as most of the world.
Cities? Well, the structure of buildings in America is much better than say, Turkey or Wales.
But I like your pessimism. Nothing like a little of the old "everything sucks" to get your spirits up.

Brainwashed? No, complacent, yes! Stupid? Yes. But they say that everything goes in 20 year cycles. So, we certainly hope that this is the end of the complacent cycle and the beginning of a new "Citizens at work and making demands and not paying for failure" cycle. I believe it was Lenin who said that he didn't fear democracy and capitalism because history has shown that greed and corruption ultimately win out over capitalism and democracy and they ultimately destroy themselves.

Guys, I know this goes against everything your forefathers fought for, but I'm guessing they'd agree with me on this one:
Scrap the 2nd amendment. Letting any old bum walk around with a handgun is just asking for trouble. I'm not saying you should take away rifles - those are tools. But handguns are made to shoot people. Try it out.

I'm american (canadian in fact), and if you mean are people from the states brainwashed about the states, then I say absolutely! It's really pitiful, but they really DO think they have a decent education system and, well, everything else you mention. I just don't get it, myself.
