Yes. They are a formidable team who stands more than a chance in their conference. They were the champions not even 2 years ago. I think they stand as one of the favorites right now.
The San Antonio Spurs have a great roster, management, and most importantly, they have great chemistry. I think the Spurs will once again be reckoned with in this year's playoffs.

a team like the spurs, of course they have a chance.
theyre a veteran team who have been together for a long time. they play solid perimeter defence and have one of the all time best PF's down in the paint.
this team is well coached and i think they have a good chance to reach the nba finals - along with the suns and mavs. in checking with their season record, theyre still breathing heat on the mavs for the division title (even though its unlikely the mavs will slip up that much).
the only thing working against them would be their age of some of the players. perhaps a 7 series play off game would leave some of their players a little weary, provided this doesnt happen, the team is going to be dangerous. lets not rule out the veterans of the west. they know how to win.

Not likely. Dallas is definitely the front-runner because they won't see Phoenix or San Antonio until the WC Finals. Whoever makes it out of the PHX / SA series is probably going to be a little tired. And Amare has a history of killing the Spurs, so I don't really see them beating the Suns in a series with 4 in Phoenix.
But SA is a very experienced, well coached, and (this year) deep team who's already won it before, so to count them out would be ridiculous. Whoever wins in the west deserves it...I just think Dallas is too much.

No, the Spurs have no chance. David Robinson is out for the season, and Dominique Wilkins, while still playing decently, doesn't have enough left in the tank to lead the team to the playoffs. Things may still work out for them if they are able to draft that kid, Tim Duncan, that plays for Wake Forest. I think if they can pair him with even a semi-healthy Robinson, they should be able to win a few titles even with Avery Johnson as their point guard. I know that Damon Stoudamire said that no team will win a title with Avery Johnson as their point guard, but think the addition of Duncan could prove him wrong.
Of course the Spurs have a chance. They are playoff tested and their recent victories should prove that they are still dominate. They destroyed the Warriors, a team that is proven to be a good running team. Then, the Suns are dealing with their own problems. Box scores show that Marion and Diaw are not doing so well. I know Diaw recently returned from injury, so he's still adjusting. Marion must be injured b/c his play has been very pedestrian. The Mavs are playing wonderfully, but I don't think they are unbeatable. If they Spurs steal a home game from them, the Mavs could start having flashbacks and choke again.

Of course they do. They are a defensive minded basketball team. They currently lead the league in scoring defense at 89.3. Teams only shoot 32% from the 3pt line against them and they do any awesome job of playing really good team defense allowing teams 17 assists per game.
The playoffs are a half court game. In order to beat them teams will have score in the half court. So beating them 4 times will be difficult.
They are also very effiicient offensively only turning the ball over only 14 times per game. They have two players (Duncan & Parker) who can control the tempo of games in order to allow them scoring opportunities in both full and half court.
Most importantly they're coming in under the radar with Dallas & Phoenix getting all the press due their exciting styles of play. So I feel S.A. may also be a little hungier than those two coming in. And lets not forget that they're former NBA Champions too.

they have a solid chance to even win it all with the way they are playing heads-up basketball lately. their defensive prowess will be put to test though because seems like they will be going to pass through three offensive teams (lakers or nuggets in the 1st round, suns in the 2nd round, mavs in the west finals) before they can reach the nba finals.

If they play their dices right then they got a good chance. but it's not going to be easy, Dallas and Poenix are not going down without a fight. Lets just see how this goes. And by the way, Horry is going to be monster in the playoffs!(i can feel it coming).

I wouldn't bet on them. Dallas is playing like they are on a mission, and the Mavericks should be the hungrier team since they missed winning the Championship last year by one win.
