i am not sure but you could join a manga group like
Kiubi kids it is a site all about mangas you can even bring a new manga into its fan database but you need to join. but it is free
but that defeats the purpose of not being a member

go to http://www.mangavolume.com they have tons of manga and you dont have to be a memeber and theres no downloading
im not sure if they have death note but you can go see and try ^_^

You can sometime find things like that in newsgroups. However it will most likely be in Japanese. If its not there you can request it. wait a week and someone may response. Good luck
