I skip things to watch Sabres games, especially toward the end of the season. I usually go to e-gaming club with my roommate on Wednesdays, but not today because a) the Sabres are playing the Devils b)it's too close to the end of the season to be missing games and c) I want to look for my mom in the stands because her friend won tickets at work and they get to go to the game! I get teased too, and you should hear the comments I get about always wearing my Sabres earrings on game day (whether they match my outfit or not!). People are just jealous because their teams suck.

Before moving to the Midwest, I was born/raised in the Buffalo area. I had season tickets for 8 years and missed maybe 10 games. Thanks to DirecTV and Center Ice package, I still watch 80% of the games.
Being a fan of the Sabres ( and Bills ) shows how loyal Buffalonians are to their teams. Shoot, if the Braves didn't move to San Diego, I'm sure we'd support them too.
Go Sabres!

I've only missed 3 of the Wings game this year.
Nothing wrong with being a loyal fan as long as you are not giving up real life to sit and home and watch the games.

Everyone has different priorities. "Life" is about being happy. Whatever makes you happy is what gives you "a life." If watching 74 Buffalo Sabre games makes you happy, then you've got a life. If you are unhappy sitting and watching tv that much, then you've got no life. "Life" and happiness are all relative. Just make sure you are getting some fresh air and exercise when you're not watching hockey. Gotta keep your health up! Have fun!

I do the same thing with Carolina. I have missed more then that due to being an hour and a half away and some not being televised as well as trips and such, But I know how you feel. Fortunalty there's a good bunch of hockey folks around, I'm understood more. If you like to do it, or find it a great way to wind down, go for it.

Yeah,it's being loyal. It's your life and team and you should be able to watch the Sabres any time you want. Providing you actually LIKE the Sabres, which I'm guessing you do. :)

You are just being loyal, I have only missed a handful of Wild games this year mainly due to the game not being televised and only 3 of the Golden Gopher hockey games all year, with the help of Tivo.
BTW bman, even if you wanted to you couldn't watch 163 Red Sox games, the MLB plays 162 games per season.

It's dedicated fans like yourself that have kept the NHL going. There isn't a huge fanbase, but the fans that are there are serious fans. Pay no mind to your freinds and keep supporting your team and the greatest game on Earth. I'm a Pens fan and until I was able to get Center Ice 2 years ago, I listened to every Pens game on the internet...and not that it's happened in years, but my friends know not to even call my house if there's a Pens playoff game on that night.

Why are you wasting time going to ski club? You could be batting 1000 right now, man what a loser.
Naw, just kidding.
Support your team, but also cultivate a life for yourself outside of rooting for a bunch of guys wearing a Blue and White sweater from all over the globe getting paid vast sums of money to put little vulcanized rubber disks into nets.
Granted Hockey is the best team sport ever invented but hockey isn't life; except in April.
