I started wearing tampons at my first period (age 12) because that was all that was in the house. I was fortunate to have three older sisters who were using them and showed me how. The only other holes in that area that you could stick it in would be your anus or your urethra. Let me reassure you that you won't make the mistake of inserting it into your anus, and your urethra is way too small to accomodate a tampon. It is perfectly fine for you to start using tampons, if you feel that you would be more comfortable. Make sure to change your tampon frequently and don't wear them overnight due to the risk of toxic shock syndrome.`

I was 13 when I started using tampons..you wont be able to stick it in the wrong hole..trust me...just talk to your mom about it and see what she says...she prolly wont say you are too young..they are more comfortable..and easier to deal with..but still wear a liner or a thin pad with it......go out and buy playtex gentle glide..they are the best for first time tampon users...in the tampon box they will have a diagram on how to use it...read all of the instructions and precautions before you use one...at first you might not get it right...so just try again..you will know its in right when you dont feel it..just make sure the string is hanging out..

I was thirteen, and that was decades ago. Don't be worried that you will get it in the wrong hole, there will be a pamphlet in the box of tampons with an illustration you can follow.

Just make sure that you purchase the tampons that are designed for teens so that they will not be too absorbent. Make sure that you change them frequently, so that you will not have any chance of having a problem with them causing Toxic Shock Syndrome. ( this is an infection you can get from keeping the tampon in your body for too long.)

Don't be embarrassed about telling your Mom, she has dealt with having her period a lot longer than you have been alive, so she will understand. That's what Moms are for, to love and help their children with any problems they are having.

Good luck and have a good day.

I was 13 /14 when i first started using them mainly because in my days the sanitary towels were soooooooo big and i was embarrassed to wear them at school etc....
Tampax are good if you are on the go and out and about but i would recommend you use a sanitary towel indoors because Tampax can be harmful (as it says on the leaflet inside the box.)It also is better for you to let things flow.
I have used Tampax for 25 years now and couldn't do without them. Start with the smaller size and see how it goes.
As for getting the wrong hole you will be fine honest.
Try to talk to your mum I am sure she will understand.
Hope this helps?

i was 13 or 14. i didnt even start my period until i was 13.
there are only 2 holes that you are capable of sticking it in... you will find the right one.
you should tell your mom that you want to use them though.
a tip is to get the aplicator tip wet so it slides in easier. and start with the smallest ones. you can always wear a panty liner to catch and leaks.

I have tried tampons but I usually don't use them. I feel more comfortable with pads. you should try tampons yourself if its what you rather prefer, read the instructions carefully. good luck!
