My husband dyed our cat's white spots green for St. Patrick's Day, and put eyeliner on her with black dye.

He used food coloring on the white parts, but I can't get it off ... I gave her 3 baths, and I have suspicions he may have used something more permanent. The eyeliner does look good, but not natural.

Anyone have any ideas how to get this stuff off?

The cat is not sick at all, food coloring is safe.

lmao! THAT brings back memories!
Yea, that may have been too far... BUT, you have to look at the bright side - you don't have a pure green cat running around. By chance, is her name lucky??? lmao!!!

Uh, I'm not sure how to get the stuff off. I guess you may just have to wait it out. Let it grow out. Explain to anyone who sees the cat that she "has a rare skin defect that turns her spots green" It would definately make for an interesting conversation! lol

Try a mixture of Woolite and Dawn dish liquid. Just a couple teaspoons each in 2 quarts of warm (not hot) water. Use a sponge loaded with the mixture to wash the cat. When you've got the cat clean, take the remainder of the mixture into the living room where hubby is watching TV.....and dump it on his head.

No, it's alright. The food coloring will stain for a while, but it will eventually come out. I used to do this to my dog alot. I even gave my cat highlights (with real hair dye!), he was fine. She'll be white again soon enough.

Have a sense of humor! He probably didn't intend for it to be that permanent. Food coloring can be a bítch to get out. I would love to see a picture of that cat.

Wait a few months for the colored hair to shed. Threaten to dye him pink next Easter if he tries to do it again.

Food coloring stains, you'll have to wait for it to fade.
