Old Town, Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park, etc. Those are kind of touristy things, except for Balboa Park. The real places you should go are Little Italy, the Hotel Del Coronado, Petco Park, the Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown, Chicano Park in Barrio Logan, downtown La Jolla by the ocean, Hillcrest, and Ocean Beach. Have fun!

I agree with Tony, he basically stated out all the great things about SD, last time I stayed at the Old town Hacienda Hotel for 4 days, went to Sea World, SD Zoo, Little Italy, downtown Horton plaza for shopping... It was fun. Make sure to check out all the great things in Old Town as well such as the Plaza del Pasado and the Heritage Park.

Hope you will enjoy San Diego like I did!~

If you are only going to be there for the day, lunch in La Jolla is a must. I have to warn you that it will be a long lunch because it is a great little town, not to mention beautiful.

It has wonderful shops, galleries and restaurants. It is full of culture and quite artsy in a bohemian sort of way. The people are very friendly and no one seems to be in a hurry, There is what was supposed to be a wading pool fed by the Pacific for kids that the seals have made claim to and are in no way bothered by humans.

You can really make a day of it if you are not all that into the zoo.

Well, that is my 2 cents! Enjoy your trip and be safe.
