i've been haing clear/white discharge for a while but yesterday when i came home from ballet i saw this brownish stuff in my tights. i showed my mom and she said it was probably my period, but i havent seen the brown stuff at all since then.... ?

i had the same thing happen to me one time and then the next month I had a full blown period so yes, its probably your period starting. at the time that i was seeing the brown stuff i had no idea what it was until the next month. congratulations! make sure you and your mother sit down and have the all important sex talk because now it is possible for you to get pregnant if you have unprotected sex. to be on the safe side, don't have sex until you are married ;)

Well, I'll tell you. That's exactly how I first started my period a way back when I was 13. For days it was just brown "spotting". Then, look out! I had very heavy periods when I was young. Hopefully, your flow will be a little lighter!

sometimes i get that. it's probably just discharge.
