I have a friend (for real! It's not me!) Who's always considered himselg straight. He's been single for about two years, and says he really wants a girlfriend. The thing is, he's also told me that he's finding himself very much attracted to this guy we know. He's tried to fight it, but he says he can't anymore. I think his mind is just tricking him because he wants to be in a relationship so bad, but he says he can't help the way he feels about the guy and really wants to be with him. Who's right???

I'm not sure being gay is ever a phase, but what might qualify is when it's just experimentation to satisfy a curiosity. Beyond that, no hope of a 'phase'.
And, given that only he can know what he feels, chances are you can't be right on this one.

like everyone here have said - you experiment. When I was like 5 or 6 ish I used to experiment with my friends all the time (haha) but I think they were actually straight - I knew I was gay when I was 6 - because I used to get dirty dreams with guys in it at that age and i liked it - haha. Anyways, erm.... he's probably bisexual. I'm sure it can't be a phase. I hope he's bi, otherwise it poses a serious question : homosexuality isn't natural?! Even still - I'd still choose to be gay any day!! haha.

Never.

If it was a phase I would be phasing for 40 years now.

There is experimentation, but there is no such thing as a 'phase'.

If he's attracted to guys, he's gay or bi.

He could be bisexual meaning that he can form relationships with both males and females.
