teacher wrote: write a brief intro and summary for the article. Does that mean the same thing? Just an introduction?

Does the summary go in the beginning of the article or at the end?

No.
Intro is just that, an introduction to your written information. Use it to get the reader interested in the subject. Kinda like when you pick up a book and read the flyleaf or back cover to see if you want to read the whole thing. When you write the intro, you might want to do it after the paper has been written. Then you can make sure to touch on items that you feel will generate interest.

The summary is kinda like the closing arguments of a court case. Touch on the facts that need to be highlighted to show that your info has proved it's point.

No, an intro introduces whatever it is that you are talking about. The summary "summarizes" the article, discusses what the article is about without copying it word for word.

The intro tells what you will be talking about in the essay. After that summarize the article- tell what it was about and some of the main points.
