The egg.

An Egg is a potential chicken

A chicken is an actual chicken

Since potentiality precedes actuality, the egg came first. You can't become a chicken without first being a potential chicken.

The next step is "where did the egg come from"? The answer to this is that two animals (who were not chickens, and were not potential chickens), got together and formed a potential chicken (chicken egg). While neither one alone could become a chicken, together, they created a potential chicken (egg), which then became a chicken.

The egg.
Everything starts somewhere.
And, of course, if you believe in evolution - you know living thngs change form by variation. Therefore, something had an egg that created what we call a chicken. It might have (even) been a forbidden love-child between a dinosaur & a fledgling bird (and they said it would never work!) maybe part ovaraptor...? (imagine the scandal) Over time, the chicken was perfected and the cycle as we know it -- took shape.

I think the chicken was here first because if the egg was here first, there would be no chicken to sit on the egg and help it hatch. Also, the chicken wouldn't have been here to teach the little chic how to search for food. I really think the chicken came first.

Most likely the chicken through evolution. If the egg came first, where did it come from? So it has to be the chicken.

This is a very old question, the answer is: God came first, and God created the birds of the air and all the other creatures, so the chicken and the rooster were created and then came the eggs and th little chicks. Read the story of Creation in the Bible and the answer will be very clear to you . I know this from reading the Scriptures.
