So this is on today's doggie menu:
Cooked pasta with chunk light tuna and cooked chicken with ground up hard boiled eggs!!
I am sure this would be considered a gourment meal for most dogs!

yes. pasta and tuna are ok on some occasions. fish is good for dogs actually. i give mine tuna and sardines as treats. don't worry about actual dog food. as long as tomorrow you can feed a balanced meal to your dog according to his size and weight, then you are ok.

SOunds like he is going to have a good meal. The carrots and peas are also a wonderful addition,
I will warn you however, too much people food containing preservatives over a long period of time, will shorten the life of your dog. Veggies and natural meats (since most meats you buy yes, have preservatives in them even under the butcher paper) are great. Natural pastas and non preservative containing foods are wonderful.
A dog's absorbtion is not like ours. They pull every neutrient from the food they eat. They will absorb the preservatives more efficiently and quickly than we as people do. This attacks their heart and livers. (Ever wonder why so many dogs are diabetics these days?)
Tuna is great. Keep him away from Twinkies! LOL

My mum makes our spoilt pomerainian all sorts of home cooked meals, however you will find that home cooked meals are probbably more expensive than dog food. Also our pom has now developed a taste for home cooked and will often refuse pet food!
On the other hand our rottweiler (I know, weird combo, rottie and a pom!) has not been fed home cooked ever, just a varied selection of dog foods. Could you imagine the cost of feeding a rottie home cooked meals! He would eat us out of house and home!
The main thing is to vary the diet, but if cost is a concern, i'd suggest you stick with dog food. It's cheaper and provides them with what they need.
Lastly, can i ask, besides the reference to canned tuna, what does this have to do with fish?

Add some carrots and/or peas if you have them and your dog will have a nice feast! Nothing wrong with the occasional meal of tuna&pasta, etc..as long as their diet is balanced over time.
My dogs get the same basic food daily, but some days they get a little yogurt stirred in, others they get eggs with it. They still get their nutritious dog foods but I enjoy giving them something different to mix in.

If you do not have money for proper food, then you should not own a dog. Proper food, medical expenses and a safe warm environment are part of the responsibility of owning a dog. If you can' t afford food, how do you expect to pay for any medical emergencys that come up?
My suggestion to you would be to either give your dog to someone who can afford it, or make changes in your life so this problem doesn't happen again (ie cancel your internet and put that money towards dog food)
In the meantime, try to borrow dog food froma neighbour or friend with a dog or go to an animal shelter and plead your case

That seems OK for your dog,but try taking out the pasta. I think it would be a little to much to digest for your dog. Tuna's ok as long as its not to old, check the expiration date.
