On Dateline last night they were showing how thieves use stolen credit cards to buy merchandise online and then send the stuff to an unsuspecting person who then mails it to them, etc. Do you think some of the things I've bought on ebay might be stolen this way?

Yes, it is very possible that thieves sell stolen goods on ebay. I have heard numerous reports of people seeing goods stolen from them ending up on ebay.

I would be most wary of buying from a scammer tho.

Maybe. If you feel that you are buying a product from a shady character, question where this person got it. However, I really doubt that you may have something stolen, since usually people who do those credit card frauds almost always get caught.

There are probably only as many stolen items on ebay as in any other marketplace. Although on eBay you are traceable, through home address, paypal account and your logon IP address.
