I have been on Ortho Tricyclen Lo for the past two weeks and I started on a day 1 start, the first day of my period . But I haven't been taking them at the same time of the day, and I haven't missed any so far, but I had sex yesterday and Im afraid that It could REALLY increase my chances of getting pregnant?

Your chances or pregancy are increased, but not because you don't take it at the same time every day. The only reason yoru chances of pregnacy would be increased is because you have only been taking it for two weeks, (I presume this is the first two weeks you have ever taken it). Currently had you not been taking the pill your cycle would be coming close to your most fertile time of the month.

The chance that you are pregant though I would say is maybe 1-5% I am taking Ortho Trycyclin and there have been days that I have missed and had sex but still manage ti dodge the baby thing.

They say to take it at the same time every day to one, make a habit and two it makes the chances of getting pregant 0.99999999%. One way to insure you take it at the same tiem everyday is if you get up in the monring aroudn the same time. I.E. if you have a 9-5 job and you get up at 6:am take it as soon as you get out of bed.

If you ever have a problem remembering to take it put a little sticker or sign up. I have a $100,000 monopoloy money bill taped at the top of my mirror to remind me. (I chose the money thing because kids are so damn expensive).

Personally I would not worry, however that is easier said than done, just take a deep breath and forget about it.

First off since you started your pills the first day of you period you are protected against pregnancy immediately and do not need to use a back up method. The Ortho Tri Clyclen Lo link below will tell you this, just scroll straight over. It does NOT take a full month to work like people try to claim. You should have nothing to worry about. There is a window of time you have to take your pill each day. Try taking them as soon as you wake up. That way it's easier to remember.

You are supposed to wait a month before having unprotected sex while on the pill, to give the pill a chance to get into your system. Taking it the same time of day is a very good idea and you should get into the habit of doing that. This helps you to remember and increases the effectiveness of the pill. Try to do it a time of day that you will remember, like before you go to bed or when you wake up in the morning. Try to coincide taking your pill with something else you do everyday at the same time.
Hope this helps.

it is best and for effective taking the same time every day. But it is still effective if you are taking it every day. It doesnt increase you chance of getting pregant. Just try to get on a schedule of taking it the same time or as close to the same time everyday. Like bedtime or when you first get up in the morning.

If you have not missed any then probably not. It is preferrable to take them at the same time daily though. Do it say in the morning when you brush your teeth, or right before you go to bed. Take them with something that you know you do about the same time every day. makes it easier.

Actually, I believe that you are supposed to use another form of protection for the first month anyway! You need to use other protection until your next period and you also need to find a time of day that is best for you and stick to it. If your period is late, you will just have to take a test and see.
