I assume you are a minor.

DON"T call yourself. Most 'agencies' will not want to talk to a minor. The are either professional and know they need to deal with a parent, or many are crook that just want to charge a lot of money for headshots and listing. They will not want to talk to you because they only want your parent checkbook.

DO - go to school and audition for every school play, join the drama club, and take all the English classes you can.

THEN - VERY IMPORTANT - walk down to the guidance councilor office and tell them about the issue you have with you Mom's drinking. You should not be in that situation and the folks at school can help get you some outside support.

Don't worry about agents yet, get lots of experience in school and community theater. Find a after-school youth theater. Take acting classes! You can even get friend together and with a digital video camera act in your own movie. Put it on you-tube and see what people think. After getting some experience, search around on Yahoo Answer for information on Acting Resume' and Head shot.

Good luck - if you don't take any of my advice that is okay - but please go talk to your guidance counselor or a trusted teacher today about your family situation.

Honestly, I would probably pretend I was someone else and call to get an agent. Then tell mom when the meeting is so she would go with me. However, it sounds alittle deeper than that. You might want to tell someone about the drinking problem. You do not want your mother's issues to destroy your career.

Can I suggest something? I know it may not seem relevant to you, but in fact is EXACTLY your situation! It is a book by a very famous actress/comedian that details her parents (both heavy drinkers) and how SHE overcame so very much and developed herself into one of the greatest comediennes of our life time. Carol Burnett. The Book is called "One More Time" and will actually show you the ROAD that she took and how she prepared herself for success! That is after all what you want, Success.

I was once pondering the identical factor as Ogasmic Ninja up there - Homer Simpson is a inebriated, take into account? He loves Duff beer greater than something else in his lifestyles. And he is your consultant? Anyway, yeah, drunks are disturbing. I certainly not rather noticed the factor of ingesting in extra.
