What is it that you are confused about?
She may or may not be showing at 5 months. Some women don't show until 6 months, some show at 3 months. It all depends on the person, how they gain weight, body type, etc.
If she says she is pregnant, congratulate her... and go on with your every day life. If she isn't visibly "showing" soon, then you could question her about it.
Best wishes.

Well, I am due in August (with my first) and I have to tell you I am really starting to show. Quite a few people are commenting and asking when I am due and I have only gained 5lbs to date. It is very likely at this stage that she will be starting to appear pregnant soon if not now.
If you friend is pregnant she should be seeking prenatal care, I would start there. Ask her about her prenatal care, offer to go with her if she does not have a significant other or family member that routinely goes with her. If she has been having regular prenatal care, normally there is at least one ultrasound done between 16-22 weeks (depending on where you are located), if she has had this done - ask to see the ultrasound pictures. A few friends have asked to see mine :)
In her defense (if she truly is pregnant), many people I know are unaware of my pregnant state. My extended family does not know about our impending addition, neither does my best friend (whom I haven't seen since Jan). She may have just been waiting for a good time to tell you.

It's possible. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 22 weeks gone, and didn't start showing until 30 weeks. I was still wearing my regular jeans until 41 weeks!!
So she could be pregnant. However if you want to know for sure, ask her when her due date is, properly. Ask her who her doctor/midwife is. Ask her how many weeks she is. When her scan is. Ask her all the questions that a pregnant woman would know the answers to. Then you'll soon know if she's blagging it.
Though why she'd want to say anything so ridiculous if she's not actually pregnant is beyond me. Doesn't she think people will find out???
Oh well. Let us know!

There really is no way to find out if she is telling the truth or not until you see a baby (unless you want to slip a test under her in the bathroom).
The best way to handle this would be to go along with it. That was she feels like a jerk if/when it turns out to be a lie. If you treat her like she's lieing she will hate you for it, even if you are right.

I'm not sure there's anything you CAN do... I mean what would you do for her? Her lying about it before kind of throws things off, but if she's your friend then you'll be there for her whether or not she is pregnant. Hmm... I guess all I can say is that you'll find out sooner or later! Lol... maybe it's her way of getting attention. Not sure what to tell ya... good luck!

How many WEEKS is she? If her due date is in July, she should be about 19-23 weeks.

I didn't believe one of my friends and it turned out she was. I would just think of it as true. If she lied about it she must just really need attention. Good luck.
