Sorry to burst your bubble, but those bands aren't metal apart from one or two. The problem with nowadays metal scene is that people have no idea what true metal really is!! They try to pass all that NU and rap/metal and metalcore crap as something that actually belong in metal scene.... reality check?!

Pantera are an old heavy metal band, and don't put them here, they were too good to be here.System are JUST HARD CORE.Slipknot are in the middle, they're not special.
Cradle of filth are sick assholes from black metal.

Dude if you listen to Mastodon then check out other artists on Relapse Records.You'll love it they have some heavy sh*t.
Opeth,Incantation,King Diamond,Gorgasm,Immolation,Today is the Day,Suffocation,Deceased,Mortician,Rumpelstiltskin Grinder,Unsane,Carpathian Forrest,Red harvest....I could go on and on.Check it yo!
