wingshooter, the fan base has changed. Many people who thought Bush would be a great president in 2004 have changed their minds, as is evident by his continually-declining approval rating. Furthermore, it's incorrect to say a majority of Americans were for Bush at the time of the election - Bush barely won a majority of the Americans who DID vote, and millions did not do so.
