Same as it might feel being any other kind of person... These are not real, scientific, distinctions. People came up with these categories to keep the people who they had kidnapped to perform labor for them (slaves) and the wage laborers separate. As in, "You are not like him...he's beneath you and so you wouldn't want to dirty yourself/fraternize with them." Without that, poor "whites" and slaves would join in rebellions against their oppressors. It's interesting to study the history and realize how deliberate the development of these abstract ideas was. Similar to the development of other ideas in society that benefit modern day corporations, like that diamonds and fur is glamorous or that drinking Coca-cola is sexy, that wearing an ipod is cool, etc. etc. And the propogation of these current consumer cultures can also be very harmful. Think of all the adults and children slaving away in sweat shops so we can have many of the goods we enjoy....

I don't know.
It's something I'm neither proud or ashamed of. It is just is. Like being left-handed.
Besides, if I didn't like it, there wouldn't be much I could do about it.
