It really depends on a lot of factors. I think that Zen that you wold be looking at is a Zen Vision and the iPod an iPod Video. Zens are more cost-friendly and often cost a good 50 bucks less than the iPod equivalent. They also are equipped with a Voice Recorder and FM Radio, both of which the iPod does not have. Zens are also sturdier than the iPod, and come in a variety of colors, including blue, pink, and green along with the more tradtional white and black, which are the only two options for the iPod. Zens, I think, are a bit heavier than iPods, though. Other than that, they have the same features, including video and music playback, picture viewing, a touch screen and more. However, iPods have a name value, that invokes awe. If you say you have an iPod it makes more of an impact than saying that you have a Zen. In my opinon, I think that the iPod is more asthetically pleasing. Personally, when faced with the same choice I chose the iPod, and am very happy with it. Good luck!
