I'm undertaking a new build soon and was wondering if I buy the OEM version of vista premium, everything I need will be in the box or will I have to cough up more cash? (please don't tell me how bad you think vista is I've heard all this before)

everything as in what ?

you will get a OS , that will install on your PC
now some of the features will be different then what you would get with home versions , but everything you need , as in what drivers ?
that depends on your board , graphic card , printer etc etc . one thing i can darn sure promise you is , if you think you can just install vista and take off running with out issues , boy are you going to be in for a surprise ,

vista , is not your daddy's 1980 gremlin

You will be minus a box,, and you may have to make a phone call or two more when you reinstall it. other then that no difference. VISTA wont be a 1980 Gremlin because they didnt make one then, It will be more of a 2006 Honda Civic
It already has four recalls according to forbes magazine.
I love OEM when i decide its time to build another (when i can afford a Nvidia 8800 to use direct x 10 with Flight Sim X I will splurge and get Ultimate, I think its only for $189. I have been using the Ultimate beta version for a few months and it has gotten better, but video performance still is behind XP

As others have said, no box just discs, most likely in a bubble envelope. Which OEM version you get will be exactly the same as the full or upgrade type of that version. (i.e. OEM Ultimate is the same as full Ultimate, OEM Home Premium the same as full Home Premium). You can only install it on one computer, thats not just one at a time, but one forever, you can't ever move it to a new computer.

When you buy an oem version it does not come in a box you just get the disk thats it.Also you will spend a lot of time getting up dates for it.
