Why do my car's brakes go out when I'm making sharp left turns?

I have a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire in great condition except for one thing. The breaks seem to go out when I'm makin sharp left turns. For example, when I am makin a sharp left to get into a parking space. This is the only time it happens. It makes a clickin noise and then I feel the brake move a little under my foot. Then when I press it, nothing happens. However, if I pump it once it goes back to normal. It doesn't happen every time I turn left. But when I turn left.

Sounds like the ABS system is activating when you make the left turn. Most likely the harness connector for the right wheel is pulled too tight so when you turn left, the harness pulls tight and opens the circuit for the sensor making the system think your right front wheel just stopped dead. The system then isolates that wheel from the braking system preventing brake pressure from applying the brake.
You need to take it to a shop that can diagnose ABS. I would strongly suggest you take it to a Pontiac dealer. They know the system the best.

you should probably should come into corners especially sharp ones alot slower and try not to use your brakes as hard cause u will indefinately wear them out alot faster. i'd say check all your brake lines/hoses make sure theres no leakage, then check your rotors (if you have disc brakes) or drums ( if you have drum brakes) and everything in that general area to make sure theres not to much wear or if something is frozen. hope that works out for ya

may be the start of a bad master cylinder, or you have air in the lines, or you are very low on brake fluid. check the brake pads to see if they are worn down , this is why the brake fluid level would be low, beacuse the pads are worn down so far.

Don't know about the brakes but the clicking noise is probably a bad CV joint.

thats a real shame i like mustangs maybe you should ask a broking or somone that specialises in that automobile spec why might you have the opt to make a pointy turn at 10 mph besides? yet i think in case you spend that form of money on a automobile then you definately assume extra from it... maybe its your breaks? examine it out and ask a professional

Have them check to see whether a brake line is pinching.

i suggest you get this looked at, could be brake fluid line getting trapped or leaking.
