i'm doing this project were i have to create an invention. my invention includes using platic.

does anyone know of a name or a type of plastic that is transparent, light, and strong

Yes Polycarbonate and Polyvinyl chloride 1st is extrrely stong, pliable and transparent. Look up Dow chemical and polycarbonate.

I think both plexiglass and acrylic are considered to be plastics. If so, they fit your requirements.
