Okay so I'm moving from Kansas City to a town outside of Denver. It'll take us about 10 hours to get there including stops. I'm going to be traveling with my then 9 month old baby. Should we drive half way then stop for the night or would it be better for my baby if we drive the whole way?

You and your baby are going to get tired & he's/she' is going to get very restless. You should stop for the night and make sure you and the drivers around you are awake. Definitely stop, it's not like anyone else is driving for you.

I moved 26 hours with my 11 yr old and trust me stopping more then half way is a MUST! They dont want to be strapped into their seat that long. I have a 10 month old who after an hour and a half wants out of his seat so just going 3 hours we stop twice. Personally I think if you leave really early in the morning he'll take a nap and then you can stop and make the rest of the trip. But if you leave mid day I'd stop at night. Its 7 hours to my inlaws and I make my husband stop atleast 4 times.

i drove 6 hours from CA to AZ all by myself with my 10 month old. It was so hard. She got an infection from sitting in her diaper too long. Plus she had a fever and diarrhea, so she was going potty every 20 mins. The hardest trip ever!
What I learned is that you can never plan a trip to go according to schedule. Leave room for emergencies. But I think driving straight through the night will be easier cuz they sleep the whole time. make sure that the baby is well fed, clean diaper and has snacks. Drive as much as you can until you think baby needs a break, they'll tell you by crying. GOOD LUCK!!

It depends. Will you have a trailer or anything like that. If you did, I would try to make it the whole way. If not (someone else is moving your stuff) Id make the stop. Although think about what you'll have to unpack from the car, pack & play, etc, and have a way to get things in the hotel room while keeping track of baby.

Also Im listening to a Candace Bushnell (trading up/sex in the city) audio book now. When we travel long car trips its great for when babies sleeping. You may want to get one, ebay you can often get them for cheap.

Babies sleep well in cars. If you start early enough by the time you have to take a potty break you can stretch your legs, change and feed your baby every few hours. Let your baby be the judge on when you have to stop. Cause when you do stop that is generally when they wake up anyway......Father of two that lives over 4 hours away from Grandma.

I'd say go all the way, especially if money's tight. Do make frequent stops though to eat, gas up, change the baby, etc.
If you're young, a 10 hour drive is nothing. When I was in my 20's, I could drive from Florida to Ohio in one trip.
Now, in my 50's, I wouldn't try it, but I can afford 60-80.00 hotel bills now.
Good luck.

hmm this is a great question. (1st off ask a doctor) then if i were you, i would fly and most airlines i believe give infants free travel or like $10.00. and have a friend drive over. even though babies sleep most of the time that could be irratating endevour. keep in mind babies natural position is curled up in the tummy. hmmm keep in mind to keep all the baby food, milk bottles with in reach and easy access. i know im going into detail. for example dont leave the baby bag in the trunk, keep it near where you have what you need and can attend the little one quite easily. good luck in denver may you have a safe journey.

Do it either way but you might want to stop for yourself moreso than your baby--ten hours with a nine month old is a lot. The main thing is to keep him occupied, dry, fed, etc.
He isn't old enough to know he's travelling vs. in a room!
