that usually tell you that you started... to heal?

And I don't mean "to heal" from a... real disease...

* You look at the sky (or anything else that is beautiful) and it is sweet... not bitter-sweet.
* Wistful feels good... it is a special moment, not a common occurance.
* You smile... not wistfully... genuine, teeth baring smiles.
* Laughing feels like release.
* You can bear having people makes demands on you... you may even start to crave it at times.
* You no longer wake up crying... the bad dreams start to fade.
* Your sex drive returns, and you actually feel like exploring it!!
* You become the *greet-er* not the *greet-ed*.
* You feel strong... like the life-force of the world is running through your veins.
* The journal/computer/bed become your joy and release... not your all and everything.

Note: Not making any assumptions about *you* (or to whomever it is you refer) ... just speaking from *me*. Best wishes... ~Andrea

You can laugh at something funny (and not just out of hysteria)
You can see the beauty in something (and not just the ugliness in the world)
You feel yourself become hopeful of something again - even if it's just hoping tomorring will be sunny - at least it's hope.
And if tomorrow it rains anyway - you don't lose hope for that the next day might just well be.
Somebody's smile makes you smile too.

That's when you know you started to heal

An awareness that is more intuition than anything physical...almost a slight awakening to outside things like the feel of a breeze or the rustling of leaves. I compare it to a seedling just coming up out of the ground.

You are spending less time thinking about the trauma, upsetting situation, or whatever it is. When you do think about it, it doesn't bother you as much. You can talk about it without being upset.
Good luck and I hope you get the healing you need.

* When getting out of bed isn't an epic battle.
* When you finish a meal instead of picking listlessly at it
* When you really notice the world around you
* When you have a good long laugh over something, and when you calm down, you realize just how good it felt to laugh, and just how much you missed laughing like that.

You already have lots of good answers here already. For me it's just something I feel within...I have more energy, I smile way more often, I feel more connected with the Universe, It's a way of being actually...!Also I usually feel more at peace with myself and radiate a lot of love in everything I do.

For me the first sign was when I was able to look myself in the eye in the mirror, and...I don't know if I can explain it...but when I started noticing more around me than just my own pain.

A smile begins to flicker from one corner of my mouth...maybe only a snicker comes to the fore; but, it's a start!
