You run the console into the DVD player (in the "video in" jack), then run the DVD player to the TV. To go from the DVD player to the TV you use the coaxial plugged into the "video out" on the DVD player to "video in" on the TV. Don't forget to push the TV/video button on your TV to find which line it's on. On some TV's it's called TV/video and some TV's have "input" Keep pushing these til you find which one it's on. Some TV's it's as simple as just putting it on channel 3. Make sure you DVD player is on and if it's the kind with different inputs keep pushing the input button til you find the right one, Presto

Try to find the red, white, and yellow circuit plugs, and match the cord on the console to the holes. Then get a portable generator for them both.

the player is going to need inputs so it can accept a signal from a game console and display it on the screen. If it doesn't have composite inputs at least (red, white, yellow) you are hosed.
