You can put the old drive in the new machine and make it a slave drive. Then you can copy whatever you want from it.

Hi, all you need do is change the jumper on the old harddrive to slave setting and then connect to a spare eide connector and a spare power connector, the system should pick it up when you boot up then go to my computer select the old drive and you should be able to access the data.
Hope this helps.

You can either connect your old hard drive to a computer that's working by setting the pins on the old drive to SLAVE or you can install your old hard drive nto an External drive case, then connect it to a working computer.

In either case you can then copy the fiels you want ot CD\DVD, Floppry disk, USB Drives, Memeory Cards, etc, etc

Depending on what the working computer has\supports..........

open the good pc, and you will find a 2nd set of hard drive leads, connect you drive to these, remove any jumper pins from the rear of your drive (to make it the slave drive) then boot up the pc.....you can then go to windows explorer, and save all your stuff to cd etc...... no wories !!!!

Or you can use a simple crossover cable and image it to another drive on another computer.
