1. I cant do a split. How do people do it anyway.
2. i cant do a cartwheel.

3. i tap dance and i constantly look down at the floor

Okay im a cheerleader and it took me for ever to do a cartwheel and a split but just work hard everyday

split- strech those legs!!! im talking one hour everyday never say i cant if u try u will trust me also try the side split first dont do a front split right away.

Cartwheel- PRACTICE!!! in grass dont be scared just go for it do alot of push ups to make your arms strong to support your body try everday one day i promise youll get it

Tap Dance- I had a similar problem but not with tap dance anyway my couch once told me to practice with a blind fold there for you wont need your eyes. FEEL THE MUSIC, TRUST YOUR SELF, AND LOOK AT THE CROWD EYE CONTACT IS IMPORTANT!!

tap dance in front of a mirror and watch the mirror. It will raise your head a little bit. Move the mirror up so that that bottom is at least a foot off the ground. Stand back until you can see your feet. It will raise your heaad more. Cartwheels take practice. Have a 5 year old teach you. Splits- stretch, stretch, stretch. I couldn't do the splits and I did a ton of stretching. I was able to do them within 3 days.

Personally I don't see what a cartwheel has to do with dance. But I've had the same problem with flexibilty. I used to not even be able to get one foot from the floor in my splits, but with practice every day I did. Of course, flexibility isn't everything. I know a girl who can kick past her head but can't do more than one pirrouette. As for the tap thing more practice should help with that.

Basically if you want to be able to do these things you have to practice.... as they say, practice makes perfect!
For doing a split, if you cant do it that means your body isnt flexible enough to move like that, the only way to fix this is to stretch on a regualr basis to get your muscles more flexible
As Far as the carwheel, you should ask one of your friends who knows how to do it to show you cause i really cant explain it in print lol
And The tap dancing problem, all you have to do is preactice your routines and move alot, one you know them well you will be more confident, and confidence is what will allow you to stop worrying about your feet and allow you to look up while you dance

Like other people said... that's what your dance teacher is for... not strangers on an addicting answers website... but... i'm a dancer, and you will eventually be able to do your splits if you work at them and practice over and over, and as for looking at the floor, i do that sometimes too, and you just have to concentrate on looking up. if you practice in front of a mirror, look into your own eyes, or if you don't have someone stand in front of you, and look at them. as for a cartwheel... who cares?? no offense, but really.

you need to get use to Not looking down at your feet.. you already know the tap dancing moves already.. you think a cartwheel is hard.. try doing a front flip or a back flip and landing it.. anyways you know your moves already.. so quit looking do and be more confident in yourself..

C'mon, you KNOW the answer... PRACTICE!!! Keep stretching for that split, keep trying that cartwheel, and STOP looking down... PERFORM for your audience, even if it is imaginary. Work on them! There is no easy trick to any of these. Just PRACTICE.

i have the first two of those problems. i don't know what you should do about looking at the floor though. you could try writing it on your hand or just constantly reminding yourself not to do it. i have never had that problem.

I think you have to start a a very young age and keep those muscles stretched.
