Are you sure it wasn't Brenna? Brannon sounds masculine rather than feminine.

It's so-so! Everyone will shorten it to Bran, I'm sure! I don't know that that's something I'd want my kid to be associated with, the idea of fibre! I like Brandy better! Or even just Bree! Shannon beats Brannon by a mile! Brennan I like better, as short form, Brenn, would sound okay! I don't know, just my ideas!

I really like it! All three of my girls have names that are kind of traditionally or originally boy's names; I did give them more feminine spellings. If you're worried that "Brannon" seems masculine, you might try "Brannyn" or "Branynn" or something like that. Just an idea. I love unique names! Best wishes!

I think it sounds like a character from the ABC soap One Life To Live. When Jess/ Tess ( whom suffered from split personalities ) had to choose a name for her daughter, she chose Brennan which was the father's last name. They call her Brie which I think is absolutely lovely. Go with your heart after all you are the one who will have to say that name for the rest of your life. Also think about how it sounds when you are scolding her... can you picture yourself yelling " Brannon middlename" at the top of your lungs? good luck!

Yes it is unusual, yet it's got a bit of a flair to it.
I'ts an Irish name used mostly for boys, doesn't necessarly mean a girl can't have it too, and it means Brian's Heir. So the so said "heir" can also be female.

Nice name. It will "grow up" well (won't be a cutsey name on grown woman). However, it's got the potential to be misspelled or mispronounced often. People may feel the urge to "correct" the name to Brandon.
