Hi folks! I was compiling a list of the hand nicknames of all 169 Texas Hold'em hands for an appendix in a book on low-limit hold'em I am writing and decided to make the list do double duty as an article in Bluff Magazine as well where I have a monthly column...

Here's the problem - there are two hands that I cannot, for the life of me, remember a legitimate nickname for. It is sooooo frustrating - two hands away from completion... So I need your help. The hands are 53 and 65. I need names for them - AND, if I choose your name for the 53 (or 35) and/or 65 (or 56) to be the best names and use them in the article and the book (which I already have a signed contract to write) I will mention and thank you in the acknowledgements of the book if you would like.

Other names that I think the nicknames are weak for - and might be improved upon are:
43 - Waltztime (3/4 time)
73 - Dutch Waiter (Sven with a tray)
85 - California County Hand (58 counties in CA)

Thanks!!

JohnsWorld,
Great! 65 is now officially Retirement. Thank you!

Pokercoach, Thanks for the kind words on the article - I spend most of my columns talking about the inside game - that's where most people lose it imo. The Muhammad Ali has promise - I like it, tho the 35ml reference might be a bit too obscure. Most of the people I want to play with don't know what a ml is :)

ZCT - Herbie (or The Love Bug) is penciled in as the frontrunner right now. Thanks!

Shadrick - the Shaq Attack has merit. Waltz time is a bit archaic for the average player. Thanks!

How about "Retirement" for 6-5, the age most people retire.

First off, 7/3 should be a Swedish Waiter - not too many "Svens" in Holland.
5/3 should be the Corvette - 1953 is the year of the inception of the Chevrolet Corvette.
6/5 - still thinking on that one

For the book: Lee Warren

That's a tough one! I'm going to think about it. By the way I buy bluff every month, and I'm curious. Which column is yours? (for the month of march, with C.Brown on cover, which article did you write?)

How about soda/pepsi for the 35 ( because a can of soda is 35ml...12oz)
For the 37, it can be the muhammad ali (he won 37 fight by ko)

By the way, thanks, and I find your article for the month of march (sex and poker) good job

When are you suppose to write that article? I'm sure I can come with better answer. If you can let me know how much time you have in front of you. You can contact me on my site

Take care

First thing that came to mind for 53 was Herbie, as it was the number on Herbie.

3-4 could be called "Shaq Attack"

That's what came off the top of my head.
