For all those who ask what I would have done in her place? I would have said any thing they told me to if there was a chance of getting out of there alive.

Most military have standing orders that allow such statements to avoid abuse by their captors. Remember Desert Storm and the P.O.W.'s were paraded out in front of the news with beaten faces. Same thing when Hanoi Jane went to Viet Nam and spit on the P.O.W.s. The Viet Nam P.O.W.'s were on the cover of a Life magazine with the pictured edited so as not to show them each giving the finger to the photographer to let the people at home know that their statements were forced. They verified this when they came home. I would believe that the female sailor did the same because of the treatment of women by the Muslims. Remember the President of Iran was also one of the hostages takers at the American Embassy when Carter was President.

They probably threatend to do something horrible to the 14 other British sailors captured if she says otherwise. It really doesnt matter what she says though. The British and the rest of the worlds already knows that they were in fact in Iraqi waters. The sailors will be released

Probably some of those same "aggresive" interrogation tactics we like to employ. They might have felt their country was in imminent danger considering the US is conducting war game exercises just of the Iranian coast. Who knows. All we can hope for is that no one jumps the gun too quickly and fire another shot that would really ignite the powder keg that exists there. The flames are being fanned but they haven't quite reached the arms storage depot yet

Over the course of a few tens of hours:

1 - Sleep deprivation.
2 - Loud music or noise.
3 - Bright lights.
4 - An empathetic interrogator who explained how easy it would be to just say the magic words placed before her and how much more smoothly things would go if she would just hurry up and get it over with.
5 - A not-so-empathetic interrogator whose job it was to insult, harangue, threaten, and generally abuse her into understanding that she wasn't going anywhere -EVER- unless she got with the program.
6 - The certain knowledge that nothing she could say would, in the end, amount to a hill of beans once the heavyweights decided how to settle their differences over this affair.

I don't buy it for a second. Fox news has a copy of the lettter she wrote home " its all, omg the Iranians are so nice, ill be home in time for Molly's birthday, they are sending me home with presents for her!"

Lol, cummon do you think a marine would ahve done this under any situation other than "we can kill you or you can say this on TV". That way even if its found out not to be true later on, it has already been on Iranian TV and then tahts what theyll believe.

They either threatened her or she is confused and just wants to say GET ME OUTTA HERE !!

BTW. . . To anyone who now thinks that the British are fabricating the GPS info. . . use your head. . . the British had other ships and helicopters within range , so if they went into Iranian waters, then they'd had much closer 'cover' from their support group . Veterans all know this !!

Nothing serious. Probably interrogation, maybe bright lights and threats. I doubt torture, the Iranians aren't that stupid, and they realise the repercussions of torturing a British soldier. Certainly less that happens at Guantanamo.

I doubt she's 'just confused', she is a trained soldier in one of the world's best militaries.

She was probably threatened and/or didn't say it the way the interpreter said she did. In any event the gps will be hard to deny. I hope they are released real soon as Britain will not play around like we do in the US,

Real Question is what were they doing 1.7 miles away from Iranian waters??? I'm from America. I am use to lies. I wouldn't be suprised if they were 10 miles in Iranian waters.

If you give someone the option to tell a lie or die most will choose lie. That simple.
