by the way soap lathers up... if if lathers very easily then you have soft water if it is very hard or takes a lot of soap then you have hard water..by mineral deposits discoloration in your sink basins or commode...most likely if your not on some sort of municipal water system then you will have hard water...

Hard water leaves mineral deposits on your hair, and can make it look brassy. If you feel like you can't get your shampoo to lather, you probably have hard water.

If this sounds like your water, you can install a filter on your tub faucet and/or shower head similar to the ones people put on kirtchen faucets. It should help.

Do you have a water softener? if you do, is there salt in the brine tank. yes yes....you have soft water. ANY NO, then you have hard water and your skin can tell you as well.....it will be very dried out.

Hard water will leave a scummy rind in your basin, white scale at your taps and leave a "gritty" taste in your mouth if you drink it. Get your water tested free at any place selling water purifiers or filters.

When you wash your hands with soap, if you can make bubbles with your water then you have hard water, if you just make a lather then you have soft water.
