I'm researching a feature for mums on how to look good on a night out when you have very little time to get ready. I'd love to hear any tips on doing your hair, make-up, choosing clothes, accessories etc that will save time but still ensure you look and feel your best. Are there things you can do ahead? Stuff you can buy? Thanks.

I do this all the time, clip my hair up, throw on nice pants and a glitsy top, earings and slap some make up on. from the time of the shower to leaving the premises, takes about 20 mins.

moisturizer is the first thing to be used to have good skin to have make-up applied on. being a girl/woman usually means that you should already have make-up accessories and have already tried them, making sure you know how to apply make-up. use colors that compliment the colors of the clothes. light make-up is recommended so that it looks natural. knowing how to use/apply make-up, she won't take up so much time doing this.
as for the hair, it is good to decide what hairstyle is suited for the occasion. it could be tied to a pony tail, or half tied. it could also be left down but with simple clips. "wear your hair" in a way that you do not keep on fretting how it looks. plus, use leave-on conditioners (those that moisturize the hair after taking a shower) to keep hair away from frizziness and little hairs from standing up.
clothes should suit the occasion. it should be stylish and comfortable at the same time. doing some shopping is a must for women so make sure you have what you want and need.
accessories are good to wear but do not wear too much. bracelets, earrings, and necklaces are common must-have accessories. they should match your clothes and each other! dangling earrings are usually nice but should not be so big (it may hurt your ears too). bracelets are nice most especially bangles.
being confident and comfortable with what you are wearing and how you look is most important. you don't have to look like a star when you go out. being simple is good and beautiful.

i have 2 boys and no time to get ready the trick is to do it bit by bit during the day.....1 )shower and wash hair......2)get on with other stuff while your hair drys naturally.......3)later sort out your hair and make up while the kids are eating tea.....4)always put perfume on just before you go out.....remember belt and boots i know that sounds kinky but they always go together and only take two minutes to put on.or wait until your other half gets home and get him to sort the kids while you have some valuable you time and remind him the best part of going out is glamming yourself up and feeling like a woman again then your not stressed and you can enjoy yourself more

I do this all the time... if you are going to a causal event throw on a dark pair of jeans and a white button up, it is a classic. Pair this with a strappy heel and a silver jewelry. Keep makeup clean and go easy on the eyes and bold on the lips. Now if it is formal go with a little black dress, you can not go wrong. A peep toe heel and more dramatic eyes goes with this!!!

The only thing I can think of... would be to wear designer makeup/clothes. I know a lot of people feel confident when they know they're wearing expensive stuff..
