None of them are plot-driven - you can see that from the fact that they have almost no continuity. If you miss a few episodes (or have not watched the first few seasons), you can still jump right in and you won't miss much. Try doing that with a plot-driven show, e.g. Battlestar Galactica or even some soap.
These shows only have very basic plots that usually span only one episode, and that allow the authors to get in as many jokes per minute as possible - with some AWWWWW-moments thrown in for good measure.
What these shows have is actually mostly just a setting - the "normal average family". And the reason that setting is so popular for sitcoms is that practically everyone can relate to it. The majority of people lives in families just like that, or grew up in a family just like that, or at least knows families just like that.
Therefore, the writers can use "in jokes" - like women always wanting to shop for shoes and guys wanting to stay home and watch football - and all viewers "get" the problem and have been in similar situations and can laugh at it.
Sitcoms like this have always been popular - "I love Lucy", "Married with Children," and probably always will be. They're not the greatest tv shows ever, but they're funny enough for some distraction and entertainment - the tv-equivalent of easy-listening music.

They are all basically the same. Each show has there own little someone that makes it special. I have never seen the raymond show. You can name a ton of shows that are all basically the same and just teaching us leasons so to speak. The Waltons, Family Ties, Home Improvement, Full House, Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best...the list goes on.

Let's face it, most sitcoms plots have been played out over the years. Just watch I Love Lucy and you'll see some of the same things the new stuff has. No one can come up with anything new.

No, King of Queens is awesome because Leah Remini is hot, hot, hot.
The other three are all the same and suck.
