I feel very tired in spite of sleeping for 7-8 hrs daily. I have also started developing black spots/area on my face and darkening under my lower eyelid. My general complexion has also become darker. I apply a moisturiser on my face everyday and also use an umbrella when I walk in the sun. I take iron for 5 days a month and multi-vitamin tablet everyday.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Well, maybe you should get more sleep since I don't think there is any other subsitute for it.

Actually, there are no ways of getting rid of dark circles properly, but there are 3 ways of concealing them.

1) A mask, preferably vitamin E mask. It moistures the skin and makes it smoother. Or maybe a piece of raw potato or cucumber might just do the trick!

2) Drink a lot of water (at least 0.5 ounces for each pound of your body weight) on a daily basis. If you weigh 130 pounds you may drink up to 65 ounces of water.

3) Cool chamomile tea bags on the eyes. Make chamomile tea and put the leftover bags in the refrigerator for a few minutes until they get cold. Lie down and put them on your eyes for about 10 minutes. Drink a bit of the tea since it also helps to alleviate inflammation on the body.

Hope it helps!

You are seeing the normal darkening of the skin around your eyes and around your mouth as well as age spots. Sun exposure will make this worse. You need a lightening cream to combat this. Avon has a great one that will show amazing results in two week's time if you are faithful in using it. Go to AVON.com and check out Lighten Up. You should also consider getting your thyroid checked to see that it's at the proper level. Low thyroid can make you feel like you are dragging all the time no matter how much sleep you get.

By drinking plenty of water skin will become moisturised, softens and healthy. Vitamin E and zinc rich foods such as wheat germ, eggs, almonds, bajra, and bengal gram whole should be included in the diet. Avoid all confectionery, chocolates, cakes, sweets, and soft drinks, which are high in sucrose. Replace all refined, fried and processed junk food with whole grains, fresh fruits, and raw vegetables. Evening prime rose oil is also good for healthy skin.

You should put on "Aveeno active naturals" sunblock lotion after you wash your face or when ever! It works as a great moisterizer too! It is dermatologist recommended and when you put on sunscreen on your face every single day ( even in the winter), it prevents you from getting wrinkles and skin cancer, and most likely black patches, blotches, or spots!

you need sun. sun has vitamin D which is a nutrient for your skin, it helps replenish your cells. don't go overboard, you don't want overexposure, but get out for at least ten to twenty minutes a day in the sunlight. go for a walk, get the blood flowing.

veggies, water, and stop being so stressed.. take a cucumber and slice the skin off, put this on your undereyes (the skin part, not the inside part) and lay for a few mins. it helps!

AND don't you dare touch your under eyes, or pull on them... this worsens them because youre irritating them
