What will make my uncovered paperclip rust? about how long will it take to rust?

Even metal paper clips can be aluminum, steel, copper,
Only steel would rust
salt would increase the rate, water is needed.

its not important that it is a paperclip, yoou have to tell what material is the papercliip off to get an answer.

humidity/moisture in the air, will start the oxidation process...rusting...
