You can't "make" anybody anything.
Furthermore, here is the general rule: The more you act like a love-struck kid, the less you are liked by the object of your affections.
On the other hand, the more distant and unobtainable you act, the more someone wants you. It's just human nature.
My advice: Tell your friend to pull back; stop being such a selfless sap...let me guess: she's taking advantage of him and, in the name of love, he is allowing it. In this case, she's just using him and could really care less about him.
Maybe when he gets some stones, she will be more attracted to him.

The 'worldly and the divine', the 'sacred and the profane' are two sides of the same coin. Love is a worldly affair, and u have to be worldly to win your love. Divine love is of no use to any girl in this world, but if u persist, maybe u should direct this love on a divine being, not a worldly girl.

He can do two things -
1) Talk to her directly
Discuss his feelings with her and see what she thinks of him and go from there. If she is not interested, its best to look elsewhere
2) Waiting...
Stay close by as a friend and wait for her to either choose him or someone else(in which case, you friend has to let her go)

Anything on a singular track will be hard to be appreciated. Unless and until somebody sees reason in other person's love, affection and zeal, it is like this. To make other person to look into sensibly in your viewpoint requires persistence, patience, cool of mind and temperament and time.

Hmmm... he might have already shown how much he cares for the girl. Now ask him to show that he doesn't really care about her. Girls r usually very curious & start showing intrest. Then he has to show his wits there...
