First off, Cal Ripken's first regular issued card was from 1982. He had a couple of minor league issues before that. If you purchase a Beckett Baseball Price guide you will be able to determine its value.

Its probably a card of Cal Ripken SR. which would be worth nothing. The good Ripken, Cal Ripken JR, didnt enter baseball until August 10th, 1981.

Well if it's the early 80's(he didn't play in the 70's)it would be worth 20-50 dollars. If it's his rookie card it would be more like 200-500 dollars.

If you are still confused, take it to a dealer at his shop and have him tell you what year the card was released and by what company. Then look in a card price guide for its worth. The dealer may have a guide there at his shop. An honest dealer will tell you its worth right away, for he will know the values of the high-profile cards, assumming your card is one. The dealer may even offer you a price for it. At any rate, talk to a dealer about it. That's what they are in business for.
