I was adopted, I always thought that my adoptive Mum was strict and had a rather hard exterior. My friends all seemed to have mums that were cosy and easy to cope with. My adoptive mum became frail, all the hardness fell away, in the hospital as she was about to die, she tried to mouth 'I love you' to me, I looked into her eyes and saw right into her soul, so I know that she meant it. Since her death, I've remembered her with more love than I can say. Although she wasn't an easy person, I feel her with me. I know that she loves me, but she'll have a list as long as your arm, telling me all the things that I did wrong and one telling me how cross she always was when others wronged me.
I wouldn't have swapped her for a cosy one after all.

I did and you know what I found out its great but no one can replace your real mom she had pain for nine months and she had you which is a choice nowa days and the reason you want her as your mom is because you dont live together or it could be a lot different

Yes, and been grateful for the wisdom they taught me.
I had to grow up and realize that my real mom was only what i perceived her to be, nothing more or less.
If i labeled her uncaring , i acted on that..
if i labeled her a drama queen, i acted on that..
if i labeled her needy, i acted on that..
in truth it was me, not her who needed the adjusting...
To talk to her, accept her , and love her unconditionally..
No matter what..
I lost two good friends who were like a mom to me..
and one day i realized, how lucky i was i hadn't lost my REAL
MOM .. yet..
and, how truly awful that would be..
We often place on ourselves more expectations and critical thinking than what we perceived our parents to have on us..
but, find it easier to blame and find faults on others for.
maturity is understanding everyone makes mistakes, and what we sought after for others to fill the void of what we wanted was a false replacement..
No one can replace truly a parents love.. not the best of friends, not even in a parent who isn't the best person in life..
I have grown to understand and forgive her, that certain events in her life have made her who she is, just like mine have me..
It can be a teacher, or rob me of a relationship that could have been much more.. it is my choice..
forgiveness is important ..
hope you find happiness.... good luck...

Yes, I have. But you really don't know someone until you have lived with them. Me and my mom don't get along the greatest, but i wouldn't trade her for any other.

Yeah, my parents had been quite awful too so i had had that feeling other times...but in life you have to play with what you have and not with what you would like to...
