Well, it had some of the same problems that any relationship might have. Nothing special necessarily, just watch out for those people who are after a green card, etc. I've seen that many times before as well and this doesn't just happen in the movies. Even famous people like Terry McMillan get duped by such folk. :-)
And I think it equally awful that many Americans go in search of people overseas because they think such people look "exotic" and want some sexy thing to hang on their arm, rather than actually caring much about the person and wanting to understand much about them.

Two actually one from Ireland and one from England. I was with the English bloke for about 4 years, we moved in together and the whole bit so it went pretty good. I only dated the guy from Ireland for a few months.. he got a little weird on me but I don't think it had anything to do with him being from another country.. i think he was just a weirdo!

Yeah i dated a fella from Germany once, i'm from England. It's was ok at the time for the most part, i didn't get on to well with his dad ( he had been a prisonor of war). So he didn't take to kind to us British nore to you Americans. And that was kind of the reason i broke it off, got fed up with his dads rude comments all the time (he still lived at home) i'm married to an American now, and thats going great.

I had a boyfriend when I was 17, he was from Mexico and I am from Canada. For me it was a wonderful experience as I never been to Mexico up to that time, and I got to stay with his huge family in his home during my summer vacation..All the members of his family couldn't wait to show me Mexico. I got to see the pyramids, Xochimilco, Park Chapultapec, Natural museum of animals so many places. I had a wonderful time, and wonderful memories.

Yes, quite a few from
Puerto Rico, Honduras, Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Italy, Poland, Cuba, and Colombia.
It was pretty good. They all spoke either English or Spanish which is what kept us together.
For a while.

The cultural differences can be challenging, especially with like eating habits, etc. But it can also be really cool! Considering Americans are typicallly ignorant to the rest of the world (sad but true!)

There is no difference between having a girlfriend who is from other countries and having a girlfriend from the same country.
As long as they love each other in all their heart, cultural barrier doesn't exist between them.

Yes I have and it was very interesting, the things they ate and the way they lived as opposed to the way my family lives. He was very sweet though and I enjoyed being exposed to a different culture. He was half Vietnamese and lived there with his parents before being transfered to the States.

Yes! He is from Macedonia. We have a great relationship....5yrs and still going strong. We did have some trouble with our culture differences but we got past them. You have to keep your communication line open and respect were each of us come from.
