It was probably made that way on purpose, called a "two headed nickel" to flip and always come up as a head. Cost from a magic store would be about $5.

They are novelty coins, or sometimes called magician coins. No two headed or two tailed nickels have ever been made by the mint. It cannot happen in modern times, due to the size of the obverse and reverse die shanks are different. The wrong die will not fit. The only coin I know of is an Indian head cent that has two heads and the mint said it is real. It was minted in the 1800's I think around 1880 or so. These items show up from time to time and are made in other denominations also.

ITS PROBALY NOT WORTH ANYTHING, THE DOUBLE-SIDED COINS THAT WOULD BE WORTH SOMETHING WOULD HAVE THE SAME DATE BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AT THE SAME TIME, AND THEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO GET A PROFESSIONAL TO DETERMINE IF IT IS AUTHENTIC
