as with so many of bush's appointees. gonzales seems to have not been ready for his position in the cabinet. if it turns out that he lied, or was involved in the firing of the 8 prosecutors for political reasons, such as seeking to prosecute cases that the white house didn't want prosecuted, should he be fired, or given the opportunity to resign?

Gonzales should be shown the door with force and with god speed!
He is the Attorney General of the United States and if we can not expect truthful and honest answers from the Attorney General, The highest ranking law officer in the nation, then we are a lawless country.

A person that has the highest level of ethics there are should hold this position.

The hard part will be for this administration to find a replacement for him that can be offered up to the Senate for confirmation that will bring to the table the level of honesty and ethics that it will take to make it through the conformation process because, I do not believe an honest man with a high standard of ethics could work for BushCo.

Lets hope he does so to spare the country another scandal.

It is without a doubt that he has been contradictory regarding his role in the firings of the attorneys.

I believe at some point, the President will recognize that continuing support for Mr. Gonzales further distracts him from other, more pressing issues and will ask him to resign.

He should not resign. When Clinton took office Reno fired all the federal prosecutors for political reasons. No one called for her to resign. Why? Because the majority of press in this country ABC,CBS,CNN..ETC are the propaganda wing of the democrat party!

Yes, I think that he will resign. Even if Bush does fire him, he will be given the option to resign for aesthetics.

NO! Not for firing only 8. Monica's boyfriend fired 93 and he wasn't fired although he was asked to resign.
