You would have to ask one of the most hardest questions to answer. But here goes.here is a non religious answer. even though I believe in god. All living things have a life force. I no some who whould diagree. But it is obvious if you pay attention to nature. The whole planet is a living thing.
Once your Body passes on, your spirit, lives on. you have choices, remain in the plane your on or move on to something new.We make or own heaven or hell.By the teachings we have chosen.in our coporial state. We know that the spirit exisits. Stories through time of near death experiances have documented the way.All religious teachings parralell one an another in a lot of aspects.Heaven is the ultimate reward for a good life . But Jesus stated that we all have free will to choose our own path in life and I believe in death. so in short.
Where do you want to go. I realize this is not entirerly an answer, however you will never know where the path takes you, unless you take the. journey..

Had an interesting argument with a mate about this. She says she believes there is a heaven even though se doesnt believe in God, and I said that I think when we die we are buried, we rot and get forgotten. We ended up making a pact. Whoever dies first, if there is something more we have to come back and visit lol

we can stay around for some time and watch family and friends mourn us, and then move on to other things.
basically, i believe that we create our own afterlives oneselves. if one thinks there is a "trial" and then either hell or heaven, then it is so for that person. if many people believe the same things, for example, if they share religious beliefs, they would end up in the same "afterworld" :)
i would like to go on an eternal voyage, stopping for an occasional life or two in some nice place or time... would somebody join me?

Well, I usually connect with my family, go to the life de-briefing room, have a rest, and then decide on which new life would be best .

no one can answer a question that nobody knows the answer to. You can have your personal beliefs about the afterlife but you will never actualy find out until you die
