I hate Alfredsson, but I hate Tucker even more. I hate Tucker because he is a Leaf and because he had a cheap shot on Hecht last year taking him out for a good deal of the season. Though we still hate Tucker for that we don't resort to booing him every time he steps on the ice, so Leafs fans should get off their high horse and let **** go because I let you all in on a little secret: the Leafs aren't that good.

Like anyone in a clown suit(Senators uniform) and clown hair(which he recently cut off) people naturally hate him and since the fans are not on the ice we can boo him. Not only that but Alfredsson has yet to drop the gloves with anyone that I know of but he has no problem being a cry baby cheap shot artist that takes advantage of having guys like Neil on his team to protect him. He can skate around, check anyone from behind and because he is the Captain of the team the entire Ottawa team will protect the turtle.
Part of the reason the Leafs fans love Tucker is he is only 5' 10" and only 160 lbs but he is willing to hit and fight guys that are 7" and 70lbs bigger than he is. After the hit he doesn't turtle and let others fight his battles but he stands up for himself. If Alfredsson showed any balls and played even near Tuckers level of intensity he would get more respect from Leafs fans and we would stop booing him or at least boo him less.

Thats what separates the true fan from the others in any sports. Boston fans hated Chris Nilan of the Canadiens from the time he was born until the last game he played against us. Then he played for us and was treated like a God. The real people of the world remember every little part of each game and ride that person or event for-ever. So...to answer your question...the booing will be there until the day he retires his skates for good.

Wait until the Rangers get to Toronto if you want to hear some booing AND some Tucker smashing! And NO, they should never get over it, even 5 years later. If Ulf Samuelson came to Boston (12-15 years later?) would the Boston fans still boo him for what he did to Neely? You bet your last can of baked beans! AND.... they'd jump him in the parking lot like they did in 88 or 89.

I don't think the fans appreciated when Alfredsson mocked Mats by pretending to throw his stick over the glass. Mats did this a couple of years ago and received a one game suspension, although he was just giving his stick to a fan. Alfredsson mocked this jesture, the next time the two teams played, and although he meant no disrepect to his friend, Mats, the fans in Toronto didn't like it.

Ranger fans still boo Denis Potvin, and he retired 20 years ago. That's sports.

No, you never get over a bad hit... ever. I still hate the Rangers for their dirty hit on Lemieux in the 1992 Playoffs, even if I can't remember which player actually hit him.
