A cube has similar edges, all of them having the same length. Let's call one of the lengths x (the value of every other edge is, x, then as well).

The volume, V of the cube is
V = length of base*width of base*height

Since length of base = width of base = height = x,

V = x*x*x = x^3.

When V = 64:
64 = x^3
x = 64^(1/3)
x = 4 units.

I hope I helped. =)
