16 years of BS...between the Clinton & Bush administration !!!! who was the last- best president ?

Best all time might be Lincoln or Roosevelt. But because you said "last best," it was JFK.

Last best? Probably Reagan. Before that, Eisenhower.

JFK was a joke (his whole "legacy" is a documented and not very interesting fraud), LBJ a sad-sack liar, Nixon a sociopath, Carter incredibly incompetent, Bush I too middle-of-the-road for his time, White Trash Billy another sociopath, Bush II too inflexible (WHY won't he pretend more than he does?).

What would be fun would be to consider what life would've been like if each of the presidents from ol' JFK onwards hadn't been elected and, instead, their opponents had won the race. That is, our presidents from 1960 to the present would have been: Nixon, Goldwater, Humphrey, McGovern(!), Ford, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis (!), Perot (more entertaining than Bush I, no?), Dole, Gore, and Kerry. Talk about fun and games!!!

Reagan was the last person in office that I would say did well for this country and the world.

Prior to Reagan I would be hard pressed to give you a name in the 20th century since the inception of the 16th amendment that has been any good for this country. When redistribution of wealth became the object of the federal government our country began an inevitable decay and decline.

Jefferson said we need a revolution every 200 years, we are 31 years past due.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. —Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government.

Ronald Reagan was the last great president. The problem now is all the candidates are billionaire lawyers who are in big businesses pocket. Doesn't matter Dem or Republican, neither of the parties have anyone who will answer a question without putting their own spin on it. The next group look worse than any of the last 4 thats for certain.

Ronald Reagan was the "last-best" - and one of the best ever.

under Reagan, the economy was strong, the military was strong and our military was still feared. he broke the back of the Soviet Union and was never afraid to show our might when necessary.

the USA hasn't been feared or respected in the world since Reagan finished his two terms in office. the downhill slide started with Bush-41 and has continued to slide through both Clinton and Bush-43 terms - now our respect and fear level throughout the world is at an all-time low!

Don't you think it would be amazing if a competent "executive" from the private sector would run? What a concept...someone who's willing to listen to all sides of the argument before making a decision...someone who's willing to represent their constituents, instead of their party...someone with the capability of using their own brain power! I can only dream...

We don't need a "decent" president, we need a smart, tough one. One that will do what needs to be done to make America respected and feared in the world again.

cos a decent president would be too decent to do well in the smear campaigns/dirty tricks/if i don't they will etc, that go with the job
