Possibly- As far as Habitant saying they are in a rebuilding mode, that is not completely true. They have rid themselves of a ton of cap money and will have money to spend so if they will be FA buyers so if they spend it on the right ones then they can contend. They could afford a Briere/Drury/ Souray/Markov type of package. If they could sign a foursome like that then they will contend for the paly-offs for sure. I am pretty sure they will have 20+ million to work with.

The one problem the Flyers had in the past 2 seasons was injuries. If philly can just keep healthy then they make the playoffs. Maybe not a playoff run. Most of them are just prospects coming up from the Phantoms. Thier defense will improve greatley with experience since now they got the top defenseman prospect from the Predators in the Frosberg trade. They'll have 3 round 1 draft picks and get more young guys to score for them. Also with Forsberg gone Philly can get some talent. Biron is talking to Brier about coming over to Philly. Then the Flyers will have one heck of a line with Gagne, Upshall and Brier. In a few years Flyers will make a run in the playoffs just like Buffalo will do this year and Biron will be the goalie. This can only happen if they just stay HEALTHY!!!!

Biron is a really good goalie, now hes with the Flyers that are in a rebuilding stage so it might take a good 3 years till they make the playoffs cause their lots of work needed in Philadelphia. if the Flyers stick to their new game plan by building from the ground up Biron is the perfect guy for the team, but if they lean towards their old habits well that will be trouble for this organization. yes they have young prospects that haven't really come in to their own but if the team sticks with their new system, yes it will take some time but you as a Flyers fan need to support everything your team does from today till they finally make the playoffs.

yes things didn't work out for Biron in Buffalo but id put my money on Biron over Miller any day.

Martin Biron will not lead philly to the playoffs next year. Martin Biron is a good goalie. I saw every game he played in Buffalo. I live in Buffalo. He either does great or makes the big mistake. The flyers are definatley better butter they'll come up short next year. They'll probaly be 10th to 12th next year. They just have a bad defense.

Not likely, the Flyers are just too slow on defense. They need to get younger and faster. They took chances on big D's when the strike ended but it really bit them in the rear with the new rule changes. Its going to take a few years for the Flyers to get back into seriuos contention.

Marty Biron is over rated. He used to play for Buffalo and he didnt play that badly, but look at Miller hes not very great himself, its the players infront of them that did everything. I dont believe you can compare the flyers to sabres at this point of time. To prove my point look at how Ty Conklin is doing in Buffalo.

as much as the flyers fans would like to see it. i dont see it comming for about 2 more years. Unless they get some real talent to compliment biron, i dont see them doing anything big for a few more years. but i dont see them sitting at the bottom of the conference either.

Goaltending wasn't the only problem the Flyers had this season. They have a lot of re-tooling to do in the off-season. I don't really see them making the playoffs next season, but anything can happen.

The short answer is "no".

The long answer is "how many playoff runs did he lead the Sabres too?"

Oh wait, that's another question.

You get the drift though.

Yeah! Just like he lead the Buffalo Sabres to all those championships back when he was their starter before Miller came around! Oh. Wait. He didn't, did he? Then I guess I wouldn't bet on it then.
