I live in the Chicago suburbs and I hate it. I hate the weather and the hustle and bustle. the people can be cranky too. I have an aunt in Branson, MO that I visit a lot. I LOVE IT DOWN THERE! i came up with the idea of living there and now we're looking at a house right up the road from her. I'm just worried. This fall im starting high school. I love the school in chicago. All myfriends will be there and it offers a lot (and its fun). but i hate Chicago. If i move this summer (whick i would if i DID move) then id go to the school down in MIssouri. Its called Reeds Spring high School in reeds Spring, MO. I'm not sure about the school tho. i dont know anyone and i dont know what it offers. but i love the area. my aunt that lives there is my closest relative. And i do have friends there. But i have NO family in chicago. Im just not sure about the school in Missouri. If i do move, i want to be comfortable. How can i learn more about the skool so i can be comfortable about living there????

Here is a suggestion:
Have your Aunt go to the highschool you would be attending, and talk to one of the counselors there, and ask if they would be willing to give your email address to some students in the grade just above you, and maybe that way you can get connected with some future friends in advance.

Moving is always scary, but it sounds like you have a lot to gain. You might very well find that you love living in a smaller area and like the school even better! Make whatever plans you need to in order to stay in touch with your closest friends. Todays technology makes that pretty easy to do.

I moved form Arizona to Utah a few years ago to start a new job. It was the most frightening experience of my life, but at the same time its the best thing that I've ever done. You should be able to research the school on the Internet. You could, if you have myspace ,search for people in the area and see what they have to say about the school, community ect. I'm sure you'll have no problem adjusting to a new environment. Moving can be very exciting. Think of it as a fresh start.

You don't mention your parents, and you are starting High school? What are you doing in Chicago by yourself? Also, don't give too much information about yourself. Weird guys are always online looking for potential victims, and you sound like you might be setting yourself up. Be careful and stay close to your family wherever they are! This comes from a mom of 5 and a grandmother of 6.

try and visit first. You may not want to here this but you are probably not going to have much to do in Missouri because well, its Missouri. I wish you all the best.
