... Because some people are silly and don't know what they are talking about.

Seriously mr. Rebel, I love my country like I love my family ... I can't be proud of my country because well, it isn't anything that I have personally accomplished.

I can't change who my family is, and believe me, I have even left the country because the North American continent was too small for me and them to share.

I have come around, so have they. But I can do my part to make my family life smoother.

It is the same with America. I know that there are a lot of butt-wads in office right now. I also know that many Americans will shoot me if I pick a rose out of their garden.

But I just make the best of it, and avoid the jerks, if possible.

And no, Americans are not nice people as a group. Take my word for it.

Do you really think they are?
When travelling, I've seen such rude and obnoxious Americans that it made me embarrassed to be seen as coming from the same country. Canadians are much more respected.

In fact, I've seen things travelling that show me that the U.S.A. is filled with the most immature and inconsiderate people on Earth. In Korea, for example, I've seen signs held aloft with ropes tied to a fence, and no-one would think of untying them; it's simply not part of their culture. Where parking is at a premium, people will park behind one-another, and leave the keys to their car so that it may be moved to allow a person to leave. That can't be done in the States. With trust-worthiness exhibited elsewhere so unheard of in the United States, it's not difficult to see why americans are looked down upon.

because some really aren't too nice. (there are rude, ignorant and mean people in every race, and there are also very nice people in every race) i don't mean to generelize but alot of americans talk crap about other races. living in miami i noticed alot of americans that come down to vacation really don't think of hispanics being much. they think we're low class people (i think they are just jealous that such a gorgeous place like miami is basically run by cubans or other latinos) i don't like this country either way. when i'm 18 i'm outta here. freedom my ***. i was born in miami btw (but my family is all cuban and spanish -spanish from spain for those of you who don't know). don't think i'm some "alien" as you guys like to call anyone who isn't american.

Unfortunately all races will be noticed by the 'bad' ones before they are noticed by the good ones. Its part of human nature. I have been in the USA for visits and have found both as I am sure I would find in any other country as well. Those that are talking in negative ways tend to be insecure in their own beliefs or ways and anything that causes them to think about it will cause such a reaction.

Unfortunately, your leader, Bush, has given the yankies a very bad reputation. America as a country is seen as a bully, wanting to impose it's "values" on anyone despite their own lack of culture. Bush is not a clever man - he gaffs all the time and can barely string a sentence together - the fact that the US people voted him in speaks for itself - what were they thinking. Their obsession and unabating faith in god is also a bit worrying and at times, sinister.

The US is a big country. I've been in small towns in PA where people were friendly & helpful, NY, where people were rude, Philly, where people were suspicious if you weren't born in their neighborhood, & now S FL, where we have a mix. Of course, I'm making generalizations about each region as well. There are good & bad people in any given place.

They approve the use of guns,
Their government is hypocritical,
They ruin the English language,
Their airport customs piss me off,
McDonalds is now everywhere making people fat,
A lot of their states enforce prohibition of alcohol,
Their ancestors are immigrants to native America yet new immigrants to the country are victimised,
How the natives were treated and forced into reservations,
The gang culture,
The are arrogant 'we are the best country in the world attitude',
In movies they act like they are the only part of the world that matters,
I HATE GEORGE F* BUSH,
Apart from that yeah they are fine why not. Just the government really that sucks. Too proud to leave a war that should never have started.

It happens with any country and/or culture. The individuals make up for the vices of their countries but also have the opportunity to carry around the virtues of their cultures. Our problem with the US has to do mostly with its bullying approaches to foreign affairs, international relationships and international trade. The individual g*r*i*n*g*o is a great fellow to hang out with. I bet even George Bush himself surely makes a great bear mate while watching one of your NFL games.

How can the majority be 'nice people'? They voted Bush in for a SECOND time!

AND as George Bush said - your either with them or against them.

There's a war on, and i know who's side i'm on - not theirs.
