Im a 23 year old single male. I'm about to graduate from penn state with a bachelors degree in Information Sciences and Technology. I have been eyeing miami as a place to move and get a job, I have been looking for jobs there and i have found some good results in my field. Realisticaly, how much do you need to make a year to have a decent life down there, being single i would be looking for a 1 bedroom apartment, or something comparable. The closer i would live to the beach the better. Basically, i dont want to move there and be scrounging for pennies to pay my bills.

A bedroom apartment in any decent area will cost you about a thousand a month. That's your biggest cost. You'll still have to pay for electric, cable (no channels without it), phone, gas for your car, and food. Being single, you'll want money to go out on weekends, clothes, and other miscellaneous items. I'm sure if you brought home $2500 monthly you could live comfortably. Of course, I'm not including any bills, such as car payments, credit card debt, or student loans which you may or may not have.

To live comfortably, you need at least a $35,000 salary.
The closer to the sea water, the higher the cost of living.
And most buildings near the beach are now condo's.
Keep in mind that Miami, and most of south Florida is quickly becoming a state for the rich; only!!
